CHAPTER 1 - General
informations
1.1
Basic rules of cooperation
Soundimage offers
own and other artists music tracks for online licensing.
The income from licensed music tracks is shared between
the author and the distributor (Soundimage). The music
license we offer to our clients is non-exclusive. The
term 'non-exclusive' means that a music track may be
licensed to unlimited number of customers (because none
of them gets exclusive rights to use the track). When
you sub-license music through our library, you are still
the owner of all copyrights.
1.2
Your royalty free music submitions
We strongly focus
on high quality music tracks valuable for multimedia
use. Please, take it into the account before
sending the submition. We do not support song writers
or artist who are looking for labels/publishers. We
distribute only royalty free music tracks valuable
for film, TV, radio, games, etc.
You can submit your
music tracks for reviewing and you have two different
ways to do it:
- sending to
as a data (.wav files) CD/DVD with your musictracks
(see contact us section for detailed address data)
- sending us
an email containing links to our royalty free music
tracks you have somewhere on the web
All technical information
on submitted music tracks can be found in the last paragraph
of this article. Please, don't send any music files
by e-mail unless we ask about it!
1.3

tracks are reviewed and accepted then, to start our

our cooperation.

access to your author administration panel, where you
will find the list of your licensed tracks (with date
of licensing, price, etc). If we sell a license to one
of your tracks you get 45% form our income. We have

track. There are also two types of extended licences
which makes the final price higher: Extended licence +24

CHAPTER 2- Technical
info
2.1
Time versions and variation of arrangements
We offer each music
track (it means music title) in a couple of time versions.
We use following types variations of time versions:
- fullversion
- 30sec
(30 seconds version, more or less up to 6 sec.)
- 45sec
(45 seconds version, +- 6 sec.)
- 60sec
(60 seconds version, +- 6 sec.)
- variation
* (it'a a kind of variation(s) of the full version
or alternative arrangement or alternative time version
which doesn't fall into any category mentioned above)
- loop
* - looped version(s), it's very important to have
perfectly smooth looping points (which makes a listener
can't find out when the music loops)
typical loops have 5 - 30 seconds length though it's
not a problem if you have longer loops that's ok too).
- stinger
*- it's a kind of short jingle / ident, it's a short
arrangement with ending. Basically, you can it ends
just right after it had started.
- underscore*
- it's simply fullversion or variation without melody
line, a kind of background music arrangement.
* it's possible
and even recommended to have versions indicated with
"*" in a few different variations, i.e: loopA,
loopB, ... loopF, stingerA, stingerB, etc.
2.3.
Music formats
The only accpted
format of music files is: wav, 16bit / 44.1
kHz. The music files can be delivered in two
ways:
- on CD/DVD
(please avoid audio format, only data) which can be
sent to our postal address.
- upload to our
FTP server
In case of uploading,
you can archive the music files using .rar (rar has
very good compression ratio when useing the hardest
mode it squeezes wavs almost twice)
2.4.
Naming the files
Please read it carefully
as it will help us to catalog your files and finaly
to put them in the library. There are just a few rules.
File names should consist of the title (i.e. news_break)
and time variation keyword (_loopa, _loopa, _stinger,
_fullversion, etc).
For example, supposing you have a music track called
"News Break" and you have it in all possible
time variations, you should put it in "news_break"
directory (on the server or CD) and the music files
should be named like listed below:
news_break (dir):
news_break_fullversion.wav
news_break_loopa.wav
news_break_loopb.wav
news_break_loopc.wav
news_break_loopd.wav
news_break_variationa.wav
news_break_variationb.wav
news_break_stingera.wav
news_break_stignerb.wav
news_break_underscore.wav
It's only an example
set of variations. You can make more or less variations.
Notice,
please:
- do not use
UPPERCASE / Uppercase
- do not use
any special characters but feel free to use underline
"_"
- add .txt file
with a brief description of your music track (one
or two sentences are enough) it will make your track
can easily find by a customer
